Privacy policy

Sleepwrist is built so that your nights stay yours. This policy explains what the Sleepwrist apps for iPhone and Apple Watch (the "app") and the sleepwrist.app website do with your information. In short: your health data is analyzed on your iPhone, it never reaches our servers, and we never sell or share it.

The short version

  • No account. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number to use the app.
  • Your sleep and health data is read from Apple Health and analyzed on your device. We don't upload it, and it is never used for advertising or marketing.
  • Your answers, mood check-ins, evening notes and chats with Wristy stay on your device.
  • We use anonymous app analytics (which screens are used, where people drop off) and a subscription service to manage purchases. Neither receives health data.
  • No ads, no data brokers, no selling of data. Ever.

Health data from Apple Health

With your permission, Sleepwrist reads the following from Apple Health (HealthKit), as recorded by your Apple Watch: sleep analysis (in bed, asleep, sleep stages and awake periods), heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, blood oxygen and sleeping wrist temperature.

  • What we do with it: compute your nights, sleep score, trends, insights and Wristy's suggestions, on your iPhone and on your Apple Watch.
  • What we don't do: we don't send it to our servers or to any third party, we don't use it for advertising, marketing or data mining, and we don't sell it. Sleepwrist only reads Apple Health; it does not write to it.
  • Your control: you can change or remove Sleepwrist's access at any time in the Health app or in iPhone Settings, under Privacy & Security > Health.

Information you enter in the app

The app stores the following only on your device (and on your paired Apple Watch where needed):

  • your answers during onboarding (for example your age range and the sleep problems you selected), used to personalize the app;
  • your daily mood check-ins and evening notes (such as alcohol or late caffeine);
  • your conversations with Wristy;
  • your settings (notifications, wind-down reminder).

Deleting the app deletes this data. If you use iCloud backups of your iPhone, it is included in your backup, encrypted under your Apple Account, like other app data.

Ask Wristy (Apple Intelligence)

Chats with Wristy use Apple's on-device language model (Apple Intelligence). Your questions and the summary of your nights used to answer them are processed on your iPhone. We don't receive them.

Apple Watch

The Sleepwrist Watch app reads your sleep from Apple Health on the watch. The watch and the iPhone exchange a small amount of information through Apple's encrypted Watch Connectivity: your watch battery level, the mood you log on the watch, and your wind-down setting. This never leaves your devices.

Notifications

Morning reports and wind-down reminders are scheduled locally on your devices. Their text is intentionally generic (no scores or health details appear on your lock screen).

Subscriptions and purchases

Purchases are made through your Apple Account; Apple processes the payment and we never see your card details. To manage subscriptions and free trials, we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history (product, price, dates, renewal status) from the App Store. RevenueCat does not receive any health data. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

App analytics

To understand how Sleepwrist is used and improve it, the app sends anonymous usage events to Mixpanel: for example "onboarding step viewed", "paywall viewed", "night opened" or "trends range changed", along with a random identifier generated by the app, your device model, iOS version, app version and whether a subscription is active.

  • These events never contain health data, your mood, your onboarding answers or the content of your chats.
  • Mixpanel is configured not to use your IP address to locate you.
  • The random identifier is not linked to your name, email or Apple Account. It is shared with RevenueCat only to connect anonymous usage with subscription status.

Tracking and advertising

Sleepwrist does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, does not use advertising identifiers and does not show ads.

The sleepwrist.app website

The website has no account, no advertising and no tracking cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site. When you click a "Get Sleepwrist" button, we record which button and page were used, without identifying you, to know which pages help people the most.

Children

Sleepwrist is meant for adults. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires), and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example in California or the European Union), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, and to object to some uses. Because we don't hold your health data or an account, most of your data is under your control on your device: you can revoke Health access, delete entries in the app, or delete the app. For anything related to analytics or purchases, write to hello@sleepwrist.app and we will help within 30 days. We don't sell or "share" personal information as defined by California law.

Security

Health data never leaves your devices through Sleepwrist. Data exchanged with our service providers is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect to the strict minimum.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
